Anti-dumping

On 11 May 2020, the Indian authorities initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of plain medium density fibreboard having a thickness of 6mm or above from Kim Tin MDF Joint Stock Company located in Vietnam. The products subject to investigation are classified under HS code subheading 4411.12.00, 4411.13.00, 4411.92.19, 4411.92.29, 4411.93.19, and 4411.94.19. The investigation follows the applications lodged by Greenply Industries limited, Greenpanel Industries Limited, Century Plyboard (India) Ltd and Rushil Decor Limited.

Notably, a definitive duty was imposed on imports of the subject good from Viet Nam in July 2016 with the exception of Kim Tin MDF Joint Stock Company, see related state act. The company was initially exempted as the dumping margin was assessed to be below the "de-minimum level".
