Import tariff

On 8 April 2013, the Government of Argentina introduced reference prices applicable to the importation of travel sets for personal hygiene, cleaning shoes and clothing from China, India and other Asian countries. The product subject to this measure is classified under the following tariff line of MERCOSUR's Harmonized System as 9605.0000.
 
These reference prices entered into force on 10 April 2013.
 
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005 (in Spanish: valores criterio de car√°cterpreventivo). The stated purpose is to strengthen customscontrolandprevent under-invoicing. Importers are required toprovideguaranteesfor the difference in duties and taxes ifthedeclaredprice of animport is lower than its referenceprice(see 7th GTA Report and 2014 National Trade Estimate Report).A list with all current import reference prices can be consulted under:www.afip.gov.ar/aduana/valoracion/valores.criterios.pdf
