Export licensing requirement

On 27 March 2020, the Ministry of Health of Cyprus issued a decree introducing an export licensing requirement on certain pharmaceutical goods according to several local news reports. Such pharmaceutical goods may only be exported upon approval of the Ministry of Health following an application.

According to the Cypress Mail, an official statement was issued clarifying that the decree was adopted: "because the protection of public health and the health care system are the responsibility of the Republic, with the aim of limiting the spread of Covid-19, protecting public health and preventing the possible collapse of the health system."

The imposition period is open-ended.
