In August 2009, the government of Mexico initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed. The duty was extended in February 2011. In July 2014, a sunset review was initiated and a definitive duty was extended for a new period in July 2015. In July 2019, a sunset review was initiated.

Anti-dumping

On July 29, 2009, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of sodium hexametaphosphate from China.
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 2835.3902. This review follows the application lodged on June 5, 2009 by Quimir, S.A. de C.V. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on August 5, 2009.

On January 24, 2011, the Mexican authorities terminated the review and decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of sodium hexametaphosphate from China. The rate of duty is 25.35%. This duty entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on February 3, 2011. It shall be enforced for a period of five years, starting from August 4, 2009.
 
The original anti-dumping duty entered into force on August 4, 2004.
 
On July 4, 2014, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate a second sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of sodium hexametaphosphate from China.
This review follows the application lodged on June 12, 2014 by Quimir, S.A. de C.V. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on July 22, 2014.
The existing anti-dumping measure remains in force during the review.
 
On June 16th, 2015, the Mexican authorities terminated the sunset review and decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of sodium hexametaphosphate originating in China. The rate of the duty remains 25.35%. It shall be enforced for a period of five years, starting from August 4th, 2014. The resolution was published in the Official Journal of the Federation on July 2nd, 2015.

On 1 July 2019, the Mexican authorities initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. This review follows the request lodged on 6 June 2019 by Quimir, S.A. de C.V. The existing antidumping duty remains in force for the duration of the review.
