In July 2012, the government of China initiated a new anti-subsidy investigation and a definitive duty was imposed in January 2014. In January 2019, a sunset review was initiated.

On 20 July 2012, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of the People's Republic of China released the Notice NO.41 (2012), announcing the initiation of CVD investigation on the Solar-Grade Polysilicon from the US. The HS code in question is 2804.6190.
On 16 September 2013, the Chinese authorities imposed a provisional duty on the subject good from the United States. The rate of duty is 6.5%. Some companies may be exempt from this countervailing duty.
On 20 January 2014, the Chinese authorities imposed a definitive duty on imports of the subject good from the United States. The rate of duty is 2.1%. A number of companies are exempt from this countervailing duty.
On 20 January 2019, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China initiated a sunset review of the definitive countervailing duty imposed on imports of solar-grade polysilicon from the United States. This follows the application lodged on 16 November 2018 by a number of domestic companies. The definitive duty will remain in force for the duration of the review. The announcement initiating the sunset review was issued on 18 January 2019.
