Intellectual property protection

On July 8, 2013, India will accede to the so-called Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks. The Madrid System allows companies to register trademarks in any number of member states in one single application, with one single fee in one single currency. The system works in a reciprocal fashion, so that Indian companies can more easily register trademarks in the other member states and companies from the other member states can more easily register trademarks in India.
