Export tax

On 5 March 2020, the Argentine Executive adopted Decree 230/2020 amending the export tax regime. The changes introduced led to an increase in the export tax on 16 eight-digits tariff lines.

The new export taxes were increased from values ranging between 9% and 30% to values ranging between 27% and 33%.

The new export tax entered into force on 5 March 2020.

 
Update
On 5 October 2020, the Argentine Executive adopted Decree 790/2020 reducing temporarily the export tax applicable to soybean and its derivatives (please, see related state acts). Concretely, the regulation contemplates a decrease during the month of October which is later gradually increased until it reaches the export tax values established via Decree 230/2020 on 1 January 2021.
