In February 2020, the European Commission initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of aluminium extrusions from China. In October 2020, a provisional antidumping duty was imposed. In March 2021, a definitive duty was imposed.

Anti-dumping

On 14 February 2020, the European Commission initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of aluminium extrusions from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under HS code subheadings ex 7604.10.10, ex 7604.10.90, 7604.21.00, 7604.29.10, 7604.29.90, ex 7608.10.00, 7608.20.81, 7608.20.89 and ex 7610.90.90. This investigation follows the application lodged jointly on 3 January 2020 by European Aluminium.

On 25 August 2020, the European Commission imposed an import registration requirement on the subject good from China for a period of nine months. The regulation imposing import registration requirements was issued on 24 August 2020.

On 14 October 2020, the European Commission imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of aluminium extrusions from China. The rate of duty ranges from 30.4% to 48% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price before duty depending on the company. The regulation imposing provisional duties was issued on 13 October 2020. The duty is in force for a period of six months.

On 31 March 2021, the European Commission imposed definitive duties on imports of aluminium extrusions from China. The rate of duty ranges from 21.2% to 32.1% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price before duty depending on the company. Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/546 was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 30 March 2021.
