In September 2011, the government of South Africa initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed and extended the definitive duty in July 2012. In July 2017, a sunset review was initiated. In October, the duty was terminated.

Anti-dumping

On 23 September 2011, South Africa initiated a sunset review investigation on drawn and float glass imported from Indonesia. On 27 July 2012, the country decided to extend the anti-dumping measures in force on the subject product for an additional period of five years.

On 21 July 2017, the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa initiated a sunset review of the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of clear float glass from Indonesia. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 7005.29.17, 7005.29.23, 7005.29.25 and 7005.29.35. This follows the application was lodged on 13 March 2017 by PFG Building Glass (Pty) Ltd.

On 6 October 2017, the South African Revenue Service issued the notification terminating the definitive duty on imports of the subject good from Indonesia. The duty is terminated with retrospective effect from 26 July 2017.
