Anti-circumvention

On 12 December 2007, the European Commission decided to extend the anti-dumping duties in force on gas-fuelled, non-refillable pocket flint lighters originating in China for an additional period of 5 Years.
The HS code in question is 9613.1000.
 
On 17 April 2012, the Commission received a request to investigate the possible circumvention of the anti-dumping measure in force on the subject product originating in China via imports consigned through Vietnam.
On 26 June 2012, the Commission initiated an investigation on the possible circumvention of the above-mentioned anti-dumping measure in force, which expired as expected on 13 December 2012.
 
On 22 March 2013, the Commission announced the imposition of anti-dumping duties on imports on the subject product consigned from Vietnam, applicable from 27 June 2012 until 13 December 2012, date of expiration of the original measure.

On 13 December 2013, the European Commission terminated the definitive duty on imports from China and as such also from Viet Nam.
