Financial assistance in foreign market

On November 1st, 2019, the Japanese Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) announced the financing of a Toho Zinc owned lead mine in Western Australia. JBIC will provide the Japanese company Toho Zinc Co., with a loan of 2.5 billion yen (23 million USD) for the development of their lead mining operation in Australia. Toho Zinc plans to export 40% of the lead concentrate from this mine to Japan.

JBIC provides direct loans named overseas investment loans to Japanese companies, overseas affiliates or joint ventures where Japanese companies hold equity interests and governments or financial institutions partying with such overseas affiliates.
