Anti-subsidy

On 22 February 2012, the European Commission initiated an anti-subsidy proceeding with regard to the imports of certain organic coated steel originating in China. The proceeding was initiated after EUROFER (on behalf of producers representing more than 70% of EU production) lodged a complaint in January 2012.

The injury analyses performed in this investigation are identical to the one carried out in the parallel anti-dumping investigation, since the representative producers and the investigation period are the same.

The concerned HS codes are 7210.7080; 7212.4080; 7225.9900 and 7226.9970.

On 11 March 2013, the Commission decided to impose a countervailing duty on imports of the subject product imported from China.

On 14 March 2018, the European Commission initiated a sunset review of the countervailing duty imposed on imports of certain organic coated steel products from China. The investigation follows the application lodged on 13 December 2017 by EUROFER.
