Anti-subsidy

On 22 February 2012, the European Commission initiated an anti-subsidy proceeding with regard to the imports of certain organic coated steel originating in China. The proceeding was initiated after EUROFER (on behalf of producers representing more than 70% of EU production) lodged a complaint in January 2012.

The injury analyses performed in this investigation are identical to the one carried out in the antidumping investigation, see related state act.

The concerned HS codes are 7210.7080; 7212.4080; 7225.9900 and 7226.9970.

On 11 March 2013, the Commission decided to impose a countervailing duty on imports of the subject product imported from China.

On 14 March 2018, the European Commission initiated a sunset review of the countervailing duty imposed on imports of certain organic coated steel products from China. The investigation follows the application lodged on 13 December 2017 by EUROFER.

On 4 May 2019, the European Commission extended the definitive countervailing duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China following the conclusion of the sunset review. The rate of duty is between 13.7% and 44.7% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price before duty. The regulation extending the definitive duty was published on 3 May 2019.
