Labour market access

On 10 January 2013, the Ministry of Manpower revised the administrative fees for all work permits of immigrants. The Ministry of Manpower considers the current fee not to be sufficient for a full cost recovery. As a result, administrative fees will increase starting on 1 April 2013.
The key features of the changes are as follows:
- Application fees are introduced for Dependant's Passes ($60) and Long Term Visit Passes ($30).
- Application fees for Employment Passes, S Passes and Work Permits are increased from $20 to $70, $60 and $30, respectively.
- Issuance/Renewal fees for Employment Passes, S Passes and Work Permits are increased from $120, $70 and $20 to $150, $80 and $30, respectively.
- Card replacement fees will be increased from $60 to $100 (for first-time losses) and $300 (for subsequent losses).
