Import tariff quota

On 19 December 2012, the European Commission decided to suspend the tariffs on a variety of fishery products to 'guarantee the supply .. to Union processors'. (EU 1220/2012) The EC argues that the self-sufficiency rate for fishery products went down from 57% to 38% (EU 1220/2012), which means that more imports are required and the suspension (partially or totally) should guarantee the supply of these goods for EU processors.

Besides 'Herrings' (1604 1299) and 'Lobster' (03061190), all suspensions are total suspensions(0% tariff rate applies).
