Anti-dumping

On November 29, 2012, the Argentinian authorities decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of sections of polymers of vinyl chloride (of a kind used in the manufacture of apertures or enclosure) from China and Germany (Resolution 163/2012, 29.11.2012). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 3916.2000.
The complaint was lodged by PVC Tecnocom S.A. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. on December 4, 2012.

On May 15, 2014, the Argentinian authorities decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of the above-mentioned products originating in China (Resolution 184/2014, 15.05.2014). The amount of duty is USD 2.27 per kilogram. This provisional anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. on May 19, 2014, and is applicable for a period of six months. Concerning imports originating in Germany, the anti-dumping investigation continues without the imposition of provisional duties.

On June 3, 2014, the Argentinian authorities decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the above-mentioned products originating in China and Germany (Resolution 238/2014, 03.06.2014). The amount of the duty is USD 0.88 per kilogram for imports originating both in China and in Germany, at the exception of the German company Aluplast GmbH whose exports are not subject to the payment of any duty. This definitive anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. on July 16, 2014, and is applicable for a period of five years.

On 27 May 2019, the Argentinian authorities initiated a sunset review of the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China and Germany. This follows the application lodged by TECNOPERFILES SA. The duty will remain in force for the duration of the investigation.
