Labour market access

On 24 August 2012, Ricardo Paes de Barros, the head of strategic initiatives at the presidential office of Brazil, has revealed plans to ease immigration rules in order to increase the immigrant workforce stock. Currently, only 0.3% of the Brazilian workforce is represented by foreigners.
The reason for these plans is the substantial lack of professionals and skilled workers in various industries. It has not yet been revealed what exact changes will be introduced.
