Anti-dumping

On May 30, 2012, the Argentinian Ministry of Economy and Public Finance decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of steel drums (200 to 230 liters capacity) with removable lid fastened by a metal ring and closing lever from Chile (Resolution 49/2012, 30.05.2012).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 7310.1090. The complaint was lodged by Raldas S.R.L. and Fabritam S.R.L. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. on June 2, 2012.
On October 11, 2013, the Argentinian Ministry of Economy and Public Finance decided to continue the investigation without imposing a provisional anti-dumping duty (Resolution 185/2013, 11.10.2013).
On November 29, 2013, the Argentinian authorities decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of steel drums (200 to 230 liters capacity) with removable lid fastened by a metal ring and closing lever from Chile (Resolution 7/2013, 29.11.2013). The rate of the definitive duty is 80% of the FOB price for all Chilean exporters at the exception of Manufacturas Metalurgicas Rheem Chilena LTDA., whose exports face a specific anti-dumping duty of 7.90% of the FOB price. This definitive anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day of the signature of the resolution, i.e. on November 29, 2013, and is applicable for a period of five years.
