On July 11, 2014 the Federal Railroad Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation published a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) that made $58,327,500 in discretionary funding available for intercity passenger rail grade crossing improvement projects, positive train control implementation projects, and passenger rail corridor investment plan projects. “The grantee and any subgrantee must comply with all applicable laws and regulations,” according to the notice, including the Buy America requirements.
