Local sourcing

On 14 May 2012, the Secretary of Mining of Argentina has adopted Resolution 12/2012 requiring mining companies with operations in Argentina to use local transport companies for the exportation of products. The new legislation affects sea, river, land and air freight.

According to Resolution 12/2012, mining companies can hire transport services from enterprises with headquarters located in Argentina.

This legislation has entered into force on 28 May 2012.
