August 23rd, 2019 - The Chinese government announced a new round of tariffs would be coming into effect on certain US imports.

On August 23rd, 2019, the Chinese Tariffs and Tax Standards Commission announced in Shuiweihui Gonggao 2019/4 (hereafter, 'Announcement') that a third round of import tariffs to be levied on certain US imports.
This was a response to a similar announcement from the US administration a few weeks earlier.
The Announcement stated that tariffs of 10 and 5% would be levied on certain goods, in two rounds: one starting from September 1st, the second from December 15th. The total number of goods affected in the September round are as follows:

The Chinese Tariffs and Tax Standards Commission's announcement, Shuiweihui Gonggao 2019/4 (hereafter, 'Announcement') released on August 23rd, 2019 revealed that a third round of import tariffs to be levied on certain US imports.
The Announcement was stated to be in response to one from the US administration made a few weeks earlier.
In the Announcement, it was stated that import tariffs on around USD 75bn worth of goods would be implemented in two rounds, one commencing in September, and one from December 15th.

UPDATE 2: On December 15th, 2019, the day these tariffs were supposed to come into effect, the Chinese Ministry of Finance released Announcement 2019/7, which 'indefinitely' cancelled the imposition of the tariffs.
