In December 2018, the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed a loan agreement with Slovenské elektrárne, a.s. to support its safety reinforcement investments in a number of nuclear power plants.

State loan

On 10 December 2018, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Slovenské elektrárne, a.s. signed a loan agreement having a total value of EUR 60 million (approx. USD 68 million). 

The loan will support the company's investments in the Mochovce 1,2 and Bohunice V2 nuclear power plants related to reinforcing safety. Slovenské elektrárne, a.s. is one of the largest electricity generation companies in Slovakia. 

A state act in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the investment support granted here is discriminatory.
