On 6 August 2019, the KfW IPEX-Bank announced providing financing to the German company NetCologne having a total value of EUR 45 million (approx. USD 50.4 million). The financing will support the company's development and expansion of its broadband infrastructure in the greater Cologne/Bonn area in Germany. Notably the company is a local TV, telephony, TV, internet and data service provider. 

In this context, KfW clarified in a press release that: "In financing this project KfW IPEX-Bank is helping to expand the sustainable and digital infrastructure in greater Cologne/Bonn while also contributing to the progressive digitalisation of Germany.".

A state act in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the investment support granted here is discriminatory.
