State loan

On 11 July 2019, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Prophesee SA (also known as Chronocam) signed a loan agreement having a total value of EUR 20 million (approx. USD 22,5 million). The loan will support the company's investments in the development of event-based sensing technologies and applications. More specifically, the investments will mainly focus on the development of sensor hardware, processing software as well as certain functionalities related to artificial intelligence. 

Prophesee SA has its headquarters in France. The company is a developer and producer of "machine vision systems" consisting of the company's sensor technology and artificial intelligence. The machine vision system is utilised in various areas including in healthcare, security and surveillance, the automotive industry and industrial automatisation.

A state act in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the investment support granted here is discriminatory.
