On January 4th, 2010, a joint announcement from three Chinese ministries revealed the first batch of firms to be eligible for tax-free imports under a scheme originally announced the previous year.
176 firms were included in the list, divided into three categories.
In January 2010, three Chinese ministries jointly announced the first list of firms that would benefit from tax-free imports under a scheme announced the previous year which selectively allowed such treatment for certain importers of cultural artifacts.
This represents a discriminatory tax reduction for this industry.
