Trade finance

On January 22nd, 2019, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a 250 billion yen ODA loan with the Republic of the Philippines for the financing of Japanese consulting services, civil engineering, as well as the procurement of Japanese lightweight vehicles and railways. Additionally, Japan will finance the purchase of steel sheets, H type steel, water jet cutters and vibrohammers for the Pasig Marikina River Rehabilitation Project.

Special Terms for Economic Partnership (STEP)
A stipulation in JICA ODA loan agreements is the utilization of advanced Japanese technologies and the employment of Japanese firms in overseas projects.
