Financial assistance in foreign market

On June 26th, 2019, Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) announced a 100 million USD credit line to support renewable energy in Vietnam with Vietcombank. The loan is co-financed with MUFG Bank, Ltd., The Joyo Bank, Ltd., Mizuho Bank, Ltd., and The Nishi-Nippon City Bank, Ltd for a total of 200 million USD, which will be partially guaranteed by JBIC. JBIC did not further specify the exact amount it will be guaranteeing. The partially Vietnamese state-owned Vietcombank will use the credit line to finance renewable energy projects in Vietnam which involve Japanese companies. 

Green Operations
Announced on June 28, 2018, the Green Operation is an initiative seeking to promote environmental preservation and sustainable growth through infrastructure projects overseas. Under this initiative, JBIC will support renewable energy development by issuing investment loans to overseas projects which include Japanese companies. Thereby increasing the international competitiveness of Japanese industries while also assisting in environmental protection.
