Financial assistance in foreign market

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) underwrote general trade insurance for the construction of two thermal power plants in Taiwan owned jointly by General Motors (USA) and Japanese Marubeni Corporation. The total cost of building these two plants is estimated to be around 130 billion yen (1.2 billion USD). Of this 130 billion yen, NEXI has stated that it will cover the parts provided by Marubeni Co. Additionally, NEXI will issue insurance for all non-major equipment related to gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, boilers, civil engineering work, and installation work. For these products, the trade insurance is as follows

  • (Pre-shipment) emergency risk, credit risk 80%
  • (After-ship) emergency risk 97.5%, credit risk 90%
