On 11 June 2019, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry through Public Notice No. 9/2015-2020 withdrew a 10% incentive on exports of 'Onions Fresh or Chilled'. The incentive was set to expire on 30 June 2019 but has been withdrawn before that date.
The incentive is provided under the Merchandise Exports Incentive Scheme, calculated on the FOB value of such exports and issued as duty credit scrips which can be used for the payment of future import duty related liabilities.
