On 29 October 2014, the Jordanian Cabinet reduced export duty on some wastepaper items whilst extending export duty on the remaining items for three months.

On 29 October 2014, the Jordanian Cabinet reduced the export duty on some wastepaper items for three months.
The export duty on certain wastepaper items falling under HS code 4707.10 or bales mixed with different types of paper and cardboard is reduced from 70 JOD (USD 99.45) to 50 JOD (USD 70.88) per tonne".
Additionally, the authorities extended the export duty imposed on a number of goods for three months, see related state act.
This Decree includes Jordon's exports of waste paper to Freezones and Akaba's Special Economic Zone. An exception of specific quantities is made for factories established and operating before 1 July 2014 as well as goods in transit.
