Ruling on May 2, 2019 in the case of Kalle USA, Inc. v. United States, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit upheld a Court of International Trade ruling that imported sausage casings are classified as other made-up textile articles under HTSUS 6307.90.98 (7% duty). Kalle had sought classification as plastic tubes under HTSUS 3917.39.0050 (3.1% duty).
