Export tax

On 26 November 2017, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry issued Ministerial Decree no. 1491/2017 amending an export duty on extra soft talc powder of 50 microns or less (HS 2526) with a rate of 300 EGP/tonne (16.41 USD/tonne) instead of a rate 500 EGP/tonne (27.35 USD/tonne) for a period of one year.

The prior rates were meant to expire on 26 November 2018, see related state act, however, Ministerial Decree no. 91/2018 was issued amending other mining materials and extending this item on 10 February 2018 for one year without any changes made to the duty level. 

It was also extended on 10 February 2019 by Ministerial Decree no. 99/2019 for one year without any changes made to the duty level, see related state act.
