Import tariff quota

On 31 August 2011, Ecuador's Foreign Trade Committee (COMEX) issued Resolution No. 25, eliminating temporarily the import duty on cotton, not carded or combed, under an import quota of 16,466 metric tonnes.

When compared to the previously applicable legislation, the duty-free quota has been decreased from 26,641 metric tonnes to 16,466 metric tonnes.

The import tariff outside the quota is 5%.

This measure entered into force on 29 September 2011 for the period of one year.
