On 17 August 2012, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan (according to Resolution No. 1028) introduced new rules for the calculation of minimum local content, to be included in the conditions of a tender offering the right to use subsoil. The minimum local content is to be calculated for goods, works and services related to all subsoil operations. The local content requirement amounts to 16% for goods, and to 85% for works and services.
