In April 2019, the Indian authorities initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of certain aluminium and zinc coated flat products from the Republic of Korea, China and Viet Nam. In October 2019, a provisional duty was imposed. The investigation is still in progress.

Anti-dumping

On 3 April 2019, the Indian authorities initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of certain aluminium and zinc coated flat products from the Republic of Korea, China and Viet Nam. The products subject to investigation are classified under HS code subheading: 7210.61.00, 7212.50.90, 7225.99.00 and 7226.99.90. The investigation follows the applications lodged by JSW Steel coated Products Limited.

On 15 October 2019, the Indian authorities imposed a provisional duty on imports of the subject good from the Republic of Korea, China and Viet Nam. The rate of duty on imports from China is USD 68.08 or 129.59 per tonne depending on the company.  The rate of duty on imports from the Republic of Korea is between USD 28.67 and 122.66 per tonne depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Viet Nam is between USD 45.35 and 199.53 per tonne depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of six months.
