The Indonesian Ministry of Finance regulation 22/PMK.04/2019 introduces new export restrictions for the export of crude palm oil. These include selective physical inspections of the exports before or after the goods export notification (art. 2 of the regulation). In the case of bulk loading, the inspection has to occur before the notification (art. 4).
While this regulation clearly includes export restrictions, these are less strict than the previous ones introduced by the Ministry of Trade (see Related State Acts). Hence, this intervention is classified as liberalising.
The regulation came into force on 8 March 2019.
