Import tariff

On September 13, 2012, the Government of Mexico published a decree that eliminates the Most Favored Nation (MFN) import duties applicable to certain types of eggs and yolk.

The measure responds to the effects of the avian influenza outbreaks reported on June, 2012 in the State of Jalisco. The elimination of tariffs on eggs and yolks aim at increasing product supply and stabilizing national prices of the egg market in Mexico.

This decree eliminates the MFN duties applicable to goods classified under the following tariff lines: 0407.21.01, 0407.21.99, 0408.11.01, 0408.19.99, 0408.91.01, 0408.91.99, 0408.99.01 and 0408.99.99.

These amendments will be effective as of September 14, 2012.
