In November 2017, the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed a credit line agreement with Mediocredito Italiano S.p.A. to support investments carried out by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) mainly in Italy.

The credit line agreement between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Mediocredito Italiano S.p.A. was signed on 6 November 2017. The credit line has a total value of EUR 500 million (approx. USD 580 million).
The credit line will, through Mediocredito Italiano S.p.A., support investments carried out by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The credit line mainly supports companies from Italy. However, companies from other EU member states are not excluded.
According to the EIB: "The loan will improve access to term finance at favourable conditions for small or medium-sized projects carried out by SMEs."
A state act in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the investment support granted here is discriminatory.
