Anti-dumping

On December 21, 2011, the European Commission has opened an anti-dumping investigation on certain organic coated steel products from China following a complaint by EUROFER. EUROFER filed the complaint in November providing evidence that imports of organic coated steel from China are sold at dumped prices and cause significant injury to the EU steel industry.

On 20 September 2012, the European Commission imposed provisional anti-dumping duties on imports of the subject product from China. The rate of duty is between 13.2% and 57.8% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price before duty depending on the company. The products subject to duties are classified under the following HS code subheadings: ex 7210 70 80, ex 7212 40 80, ex 7225 99 00, ex 7226 99 70. The measure is in force for a period of 6 months.

On 16 March 2013, the European Council Imposed definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of the subject product from China. The rate of duty is 13.6% or 16.2% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price before duty depending on the company. A number of companies are exempt from the measure.

On 14 March 2018, the European Commission initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of certain organic coated steel products from China. The investigation follows the application lodged on 13 December 2017 by EUROFER.
