On January 22nd, 2019, the Japanese Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) announced support for the export of Japanese machinery and equipment to Bahrain.

Trade finance

On January 22nd, 2019, the Japanese Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) signed a 45 million Euro (51 million USD) loan agreement with Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. The loan will go towards the purchase of Japanese machinery and equipment for export to Bahrain. Furthermore, the Nippon Export Investment Insurance (NEXI) will provide loan insurance for the exportation of the Japanese-produced exports. BNP Paribas Bank Tokyo Branch will co-finance the loan for a total amount is 90 million euros (102 million USD). 

Aluminum Bahrain's products include standard ingots, rolling slabs, foundry alloy ingots, extrusion billets, T-ingots, and liquid metal products. Furthermore, the company produces anodes and calcined coke; potable water; and generates and sells electricity in Bahrain.
