Price stabilisation

On 27 April 2018, the Ministry of Energy and Mining of Argentina has adopted Disposition 63/2018 increasing the fixed-price of biodiesel that oil companies have to pay to biodiesel producers.

The new price has increased from ARS 17,957 (USD 870.2) to ARS 18,223 (USD 883.09) per tonne.

Due to the compulsory requirement to use at least 10% of biodiesel in fuel blends locally produced imposed via Decreto Resolution 390/2014, this increase in the prices of biodiesel suggests that this intervention is intended as a price support to domestic biodiesel producers.

The new price enters into force on 1 May 2018.

On 1 June 2018, the Ministry of Energy and Mining of Argentina has adopted a new Disposition modifying the price of biodiesel (please, see related state acts).
