In December 2018, the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed a credit line agreement with Banco de Sabadell, S.A. to support projects carried out by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-cap companies in Spain.

State loan

On 14 December 2018, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Banco de Sabadell, S.A. signed a credit line agreement having a total financing value of EUR 150 million (approx. USD 169.5 million). 

The credit line will, through Banco de Sabadell, S.A., support projects carried out by Spanish small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-cap companies. The credit line is financed under the EIB 2017 programme for EU SMEs and mid-caps, see related state act.

According to the EIB, the credit line will: "... will improve competitiveness and access to finance at favorable conditions for SMEs and mid-caps in Spain."

A state act in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the investment support granted here is discriminatory.
