In January 2012, the government of Egypt initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of ball point pens from China. In October 2012, the duty was extended. In January 2017, a sunset review was again initiated. In January 2018, the definitive duty was terminated.

Anti-dumping

On 4 January 2012, the Egyptian authorities initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of ball point pens from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 9608.10.

On 23 October 2012, the Egyptian authorities extended the antidumping duty imposed on the subject good from China. The rate of duty is USD 0.0185 per pen. The antidumping duty was initially imposed on 22 January 2007.

On 27 January 2017, the Egyptian authorities initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of ball point pens from China.

On 15 January 2018, the Egyptian authorities terminated the definitive duty following the conclusion of the sunset review. The review concluded that no potential material injury would continuation.
