On 31 December 2013, the Malaysia government announced a change in export formalities.

The amendments come into effect on 1 January 2014.

Export licensing requirement

On 31 December 2013, the Malaysia government introduced additional export requirements for specific chemical (HCFC) products (HS 290377, HS 290371, HS 290372, HS 290373, HS 290374, and HS 290375).

Exports require letters of approval from the Department of Environment.

The amendments come into effect on 1 January 2014.
