Export quota

In December 2009, the Chinese government announced the allotted export quota for milled grain to the territories of Hong Kong and Macao.

The total quota was 150,000 tonnes, an increase of 6.1% from the previous year.

Milled grain exported under the quota system cannot be re-exported to anywhere else after arriving to the territories in question.

Over the next few years, up to 2013, the quota was increased slightly by 2.4% to 153700 tonnes. This figure was maintained until 2019.
