Import tariff

On 19 April 2018, the Group of MERCOSUR has adopted Resolution 003/2018 increasing the import duties on the following tariff lines: 2905.17.20 and 3823.70.10. The new import tariffs have been increased from 2%  to 12% and 14% respectively.

In addition, the new legislation has deleted tariff subheading 3823.70.30 and created a new tariff subheading classified as NCM 3823.70.40. As a consequence, the 2% import duty that applied to products classified under the deleted tariff line has increased to 14% which is the value set on the newly created tariff subheading.

This new import duty only affects countries outside the MERCOSUR trading block.

The amendments introduced in this resolution are to enter into force on 1 January 2019.
