The Executive body of MERCOSUR decided to amend the Common External Nomenclature leading to changes in the import duties set on six tariff lines.

Import tariff

On 19 April 2018, the Group of MERCOSUR has adopted Resolution 001/2018 decreasing the import duties on the following tariff lines: 0802.22.00, 3702.10.20 and 9209.91.00. The new import tariffs have been decreased from 6%, 14% and 16% to 2% respectively.

This new import duty only affects countries outside the MERCOSUR trading block.

The new import duties are to enter into force on 1 January 2019.

Import tariff

Resolution 1/2018 adopted by the Group of MERCOSUR also increased the import duty on the following tariff lines: 3003.90.17 and 3004.50.60. The new import tariffs have increased from 0% to 8%.

In addition, due to the creation of two eight-digit tariff linen, the import duty of products now classified under tariff subheading 2707.50.10 has also increased from 0% to 4%. 

This new import duty only affects countries outside the MERCOSUR trading block.

This decision is to enter into force on 1 January 2019.
