The Government of Argentina established reference prices on imports of raffia seats originating in certain Asian markets. The new legislation also eliminated the import criterion values set on a similar product classified under a different tariff subheading.

Import tariff

On 21 December 2018, the Federal Administration for Public Revenue of Argentina (i.e. AFIP by its Spanish acronym) has adopted General Resolution 4386/2018 establishing a reference price on imports of certain raffia seats classified under tariff subheading NCM 9401.53.00.

The new reference price has been set at a FOB value of USD 22.50 per unit. Previously to this resolution, no reference prices applied to this tariff line.

The new legislation affected the following jurisdictions: the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

This measure applied to imports taking place as of 31 December 2018.

Import tariff

General Resolution 4386/2018 adopted by the Federal Administration for Public Revenue of Argentina on 21 December 2018, also eliminated the reference price set on imports of certain raffia seats classified under tariff subheading NCM 9401.51.00.

The previously applicable import criterion value was established in External Notice 91/2008 at a FOB value of USD 20.00 per unit.

The new legislation affected the following jurisdictions: the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay.

This measure entered into force on 31 December 2018.
