On 31 July 2017, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade awarded a 1.4 billion ruble contract to Ramenskoye Design Bureau to conduct R&D into IMA avionics.

On 31 July 2017, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade assigned 1.3 billion rubles (USD 21.7m) avionics R&D contract to Ramenskoe Design Bureau. Ramenskoe will keep the IP rights over the avionics produced.
The contract concerns research, design and testing work into the avionics based on integrated modular avionics (IMA) principles. The equipment designed is to feed into the latest Russian-manufactured and Russian-designed airplanes, including SSJ-75/100, IL-114-300, IL-96-400M(300), and MC-21.
Ramenskoe Design Bureau is a subsidiary of the Radio and Electronic Technologies Concern (KRET), a holding company uniting 70 radio-electronics manufacturers. KRET is, in turn, a part of Rostech, a state-controlled industrial & tech conglomerate. Founded in 2007, with a presidential decree, Rostech was given control over 700 Russian industry companies, from automotive and aviation to machine building and armaments.
The subsidy is disbursed in the framework of Component 4 on aircraft units and devices of the State Program on the Development of Aircraft Manufacturing in 2013-2025. The overall budget for IMA avionics R&D is 1.4 billion rubles in 2017 and 1.3 billion annually in 2018 and 2019 (around USD 23m)
