The Government of Argentina issued a new Decree modifying the list of goods that are allowed to have a different import duty that the one established by MERCOSUR.

Import tariff

On 25 September 2018, the Argentine Executive has adopted Decree 847/2018 substituting annexes II and X from Decree 1126/2017 and its posterior changes. This change led to the increase of the import duties set on 8 tariff lines included in the Lists of Exceptions to the Common External Tariff of MERCOSUR. The new tariffs have increased by values ranging between 5% and 15%, leading to import duties ranging between 10% and 35%.

This Decree enters into force on 27 September 2018.

Import tariff

The changes introduced in Decree 847/2018 with the replacement of annexes II and X from Decree 1126/2017 and its posterior changes, also led to the decrease of the import duty set on 9 tariffs lines. Concretely, when comparing the information enclosed on the new annexe with the previous applicable duties, the import tariffs have been decreased by values ranging from 2% to 20% resulting in duties ranging between 0% and 25%.

This Decree enters into force on 27 September 2018.
