Production subsidy

On 17 May 2017, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the distribution of 1.13 billion rubles (USD 19.6m) in subsidies to medical appliance producers. The subsidies were allocated in the framework of the Russian State Program on Development of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry (sub-program on Medical Items Production). The program was designed to co-finance costs of setting up medical appliance production in Russia, with money allocated to qualifying firms by a government commission that evaluated submitted applications. Over the year 2017, 16 allocations were made by the Ministry.
